UPDATED: Fireworks Restrictions Map
IMPORTANT FIRE SAFETY MESSAGE:
Dear Residents,
With the continued dry weather we’ve experienced this summer, I urge everyone to remain mindful of potential wildfire hazards in our community. Please be aware of your surroundings and report any signs of smoke, fire, or suspicious activity immediately by calling the Sheriff’s Office or dialing 911. Quick reporting is critical - wildfires can spread rapidly, and every second counts.
I also ask parents to speak with their children about fire safety. Fireworks, campfires, and even parking motorized vehicles in dry grass can pose significant risks during this time of year.
I have requested increased patrols by both the Sheriff’s Office and our fire department to help ensure our community remains safe. However, safety is a shared responsibility, and we need everyone’s cooperation.
Let’s work together to protect our homes, families, and environment. Thank you for your continued support and diligence. If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas, please contact or come to our city office.
Sincerely,
Darren Frandsen, City Manager, Fruit Heights City
FIREWORKS IN FRUIT HEIGHTS
Each July, fireworks become a topic of conversation. Fireworks can make summer celebrations more fun, but they cause worries as the risk of wildfire is high in our area. Fruit Heights is nestled into the benches of northern Davis County, meaning the City is surrounded by vegetation. Fireworks can be particularly dangerous to property in these areas.
Members of the city council review and adjusts firework restrictions, codes and maps as necessary each year to address current concerns and issues. See the most current map and ordinance for firework and open fire restrictions.
On July 15, 2025, members of the Fruit Heights City Council unanimously decided to follow the restrictions map of Davis County and the Utah State Fire Marshal's Office.
All areas of Fruit Heights located east of Highway 89 are now restricted from the discharging of fireworks. This covers ALL areas east of HWY 89, including areas previously excluded from restrictions - including Harvey Park at City Hall. Please DO NOT discharge fireworks anywhere east of Highway 89. The Davis County Sheriff's Office, Farmington Fire Department, and Fruit Heights City are all aware of the change, and will give citations based on these restrictions.
